Return of Java !!!

Its the return of Java to me !!! Yes.. I started a project on Java, which uses Struts, Axis and WSDL (Web Services Description Language) for an innovative service provider. It was pretty tough to restart java programming with struts, Axis WSDL, as struts requires lot of configurations on struts-config.xml and web.xml files. Also struts TLDs has changed a lot from struts 1.1 to 2.2. I was not familiar with Axis and WSDL also (today too).So i started from the scratch to study Axis, WSDL, but i managed to write a working application in these technologies. There is some more fine touch need to be done on this project.

It is challenging , when you start a project with something which is not familiar to you or not heard about it !! There is not much help i got from SUN's java website beacuse Axis library is provided by apache, so better you search at apache if you need any help on Axis. Sample codes on WSDL or Axis is very less on the net. If you are starting a project like this, my advice is, be positive and Gud luck. " Nothing is impossible" !!!.

While saving considerable programming effort, copy-pasted code can be the source of numerous bugs. Zhou's copy-paste tool, called CP-Miner, uses data-mining techniques to find copy-pasted code in the program and examine and correct that code for consistent modifications.

Future of IDEs

IDE ( Integrated Developement Environment) is a word common to software engineers.. There are lot of IDEs in the market like eclipse, netBeans,...etc. These are all standalone system based IDEs, where you have to install these IDEs on your system. Just think in a weird way... A web based IDE.... yes come on.....

I came across a live editor for Javascript and XUL where, every key press editor parses the entered text in the case of XUL. In the javascript editor you can press tab key to get the matching elements... This is a rudimentary form of IDE... But there is a lot more potential to this idea. I have searched using google for the live editor for PHP, but i got only message forums where people have discussed about it, not executed yet as per my knowledge.

So come on guys iam inviting your views about this idea... a web based IDE for PHP... Come on give me some constructive help... We can do it.

Great escape !!!!

Oh.... GOD... !!!

Two days back one of my naughty friend (Lovable too) scribbled me with a link, at orkut. I clicked on that link. It asked for downloading an .exe file... as usual i suspected the virus. But i clicked that .exe to open nothing has happened !!!

Iam a fan of firfox browser, so i was using firefox... Later i opened the IE to view some website... The virus which i opened earlier got infected to IE... A narrow escape...!!

Virus functionality (i got info from internet ) :: Will delete all of your contact list from orkut, if you were opened orkut with IE.

This virus is still here in my system... i did not install anti virus to delete it.... as iam using firefox as my primary browser.

Service that sucks

Two days back i have downloaded the riya photo uploader, it is the worst interms of sucking the client memory. I did not expect this type of client side uploader from world's most innovative web 2.0 company !!! After the installation, it took about 45 minutes to upload about 30 photos of JPEG format file each having a about 200 KB of size. And my broadband connection speed is 256 KBPS (normal speed in India). Also uploader sucks every time you restart your system, it will automatically come up and tries to log on at the time of system initialisation. The best way to avoid thi problem is just uninstall it, thats what i did !!!

One more service that sucks me is my sify broadband connection !!! I have installed sify client side application for logging into broadband. Here the problem is whenever i tries to connect to the broadband, after the authentication, internet explorer automatically opens with sify website and after 5 or 10 minutes the browser again opens with bangalore live(another website from sify) and one matrimonial website. I have paid to get the broadband service from sify, but they are forcing me to view their website.. is this according to sify's marketing stratergy ???? There sholud be some business ethics....Should not the blind marketing !!!

Come on guys... act upon this new era of harassment !!!

IE Vs Firefox

"War of the Browsers" . Yes IE has got a good rival after a long time war with the Netscape's Navigator. Even the 90 percentage of PC OS is windows, so as IE. But in the developer community Firefox is catching up rapidly with its open source and add-on extensions for developer. Recently i came across the Fireofx extension for the web developer, which helps a lot while designing UI. Today one of my collegue come up with the IE DEV BAR, Firfox web developer like extension for the IE. It is good to see a war, as the product gets support for the more and more functionalities. IE has got upper edge in the normal user( naive) community, but over the developer community Firefox has slight upper egde, beacuse of its add-on extensions for the developers.

We can expect a lot more with the IE-7, its beta version released with a lot of changes from the traditional look. What i liked is the option for the opening a new web page in the same window (using tab, Firefox already has this facility).

Iam expecting a XUL like language from IE, which is compatible with Firefox( Dreaming..???). XUL is a powerful XML like language (tool) , which can help you to change the whole look of the browser.

Are you a traditional thinker ??

Today i met one of my (close) friend (not specifying name here !!!). He is the a guy with guts and attitude !!!!. He is an intelligent guy with lot ideas.... damn good ideas. In our meeting we discussed about the current scenario in the software industry.... He revealed me the IDEA of starting a software firm... He spoke about his of software firm a lot...!!!
Iam writing this blog because this guys idea was to approach a software firm and do something for them as a pilot project and get their confidence..... not bad !!!! Is this a traditional model of thinking.... ???
YES... i feel this is a trditinal thinking...., the reason is you are spending your resource for nothing.... !!!! There is a German saying " Zeit ist Geld " (TIME IS MONEY).... Then why do you want spend your time for somebody else....????. I told to my friend about my idea of a software firm..., start implement one idea with lot of confidence.. do lot of marketing... It will do everthing for the success of your firm... world is connected yar.
This is the time of highly customized software.... So the generic software has got lot of potential.... from where we can build customized one !!!
Come on guys give me Idea.. i will do anything for you !!!!
